There have been plenty of attempts and promotions in India over the past few years to encourage sports other than cricket.There was a time when the only sports in the minds of Indian people were first hockey, and then cricket. At least now the Indians are conscious of the number of people who can play sports. Thanks to Abhinav Bindra's Gold Medal and other Olympic medallists because of which we Indians finally paid attention to sports such as boxing, wrestling, shooting and archery.
Also this decade has seen a increase in football and kabaddi popularity among Indians. The largest, and only players, are the Indian Super League (football) and Pro Kabaddi. I say so because there's a lot of things to do to support football. I'm not really serious about Kabaddi as it needs promotion in foreign countries so that at least one team can come closer to winning the Kabaddi World Cup against India in the future.And the question we face is why can't a nation of 1.2 billion people create world-class athletes and soccer players, too young for the most part? Before jumping to respond right away, let's take a detour and go back to being a child. I am now a 10-year-old boy studying in std. V, constantly asking me to do my studies and play less. If I turn on my TV to the sports channel, I just see a cricket match. In different advertisements, I also see cricketers. Small kids are given football in school during the sport time to run around and do whatever they want, whilst the grown-up play cricket. So what will I take from those? There is only one popular sport that is cricket in our country and you also get the chance to be on television.
As the issue lies right there clearly is obvious. The emphasis has to be on shifting children's perspective. Let them be conscious of all the potential possibilities they might have. Not all can play cricket, others will have natural talent in sports or racquet games. Topics such as Physical Education should be implemented early. The media will include information about matches at international clubs. We should be welcoming major clubs to come and play in our country (in football like Bayern Munich, Arsenal).Start financially helping the kid if he / she has skills. Rich people should begin investing in these children by supplying them with world-class facilities, and there should also be more glamor in other sports for the people who can afford it.

When children see success and money they continue to obey and they will also be helped by their parents.
